How to swap faces in a video
A video face swap needs two inputs: a target video — the clip being edited — and source face photos — clear pictures of the faces you want to insert. VisoPop analyzes the video, detects all people in the scene, lets you map individual source photos to different characters, and blends the new faces into every motion frame. Rendering runs entirely on cloud GPUs with zero install required.
Step 1: Upload your target video
Select the clip where you want the faces to appear. You can upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM file from your device, or pick one from our template library.
- Max duration: 15 seconds on the free plan; upgrade to unlock 30 seconds.
- Max file size: 10MB on the free plan; upgrade to unlock 100MB.
- Tip: Clips with clear, unobstructed faces and even lighting give the most seamless result. Avoid heavy motion blur and shots where hands or hair repeatedly cover the face.
Step 2: Add source face photos and map characters
Upload one or multiple source face photos. Our engine extracts 512-dimension facial embeddings and allows flexible 1-to-1 matching across every detected character in the video:
- Use clear, front-facing selfies or portrait photos with neutral lighting.
- Avoid sunglasses, heavy shadows, masks, or extreme filters.
- JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC formats are supported.
- Multi-Character Mapping: Upload separate photos for different people in group clips. Tap any detected video face and pair it with its corresponding source photo.
- Selective Swapping: Unmapped characters in the video remain completely unchanged.

How long does a video face swap take?
Most short clips finish in roughly 30 to 60 seconds. Longer clips and HD processing take proportionally longer. You can wait on the page or check your Gallery later — completed videos stay available until the 24-hour cleanup window.
Can I swap more than one face in the same video?
Yes. Our AI detects every face in the frame and lets you map a different source photo to each person. Credits are based on clip length and quality, not on the number of faces.
Will my video have a watermark?
Free starter exports include a subtle watermark. Purchasing any credit pack or subscribing to a membership unlocks clean watermark removal and HD exports up to 4K.
What happens to my uploads?
Source photos, target videos, and generated results are permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours. Your media is never used to train AI models.
